This website, drgowthamchowdary.com, is run by Dr. Gowtham Chowdary Kankanala, Orthopaedic & Joint Replacement Surgeon, Hyderabad. In this policy, “we” means Dr. Gowtham and the team who help him run his practice and this website.

Information you give us. If you use the Contact Us form, we collect your name, phone number, email address, preferred date and time, type of visit and any message you write. If you contact us by WhatsApp, phone or email, we receive whatever you choose to share, such as your name, number and details of your problem.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the website, standard technical information is collected, such as your device and browser type, the pages you view, how you arrived at the site and your approximate location (city level). We use this to understand how the website is used. It comes from Google Analytics and from Jetpack (WordPress.com) statistics, which use cookies or similar technology.
Content from other services. Some pages show content or load files from other companies: Dr. Gowtham’s Instagram feed (Meta), fonts (Google Fonts), images served through Jetpack (WordPress.com) and links to Google Maps and WhatsApp. These services may receive your IP address and set their own cookies, under their own privacy policies.
Health information
Please don’t send detailed medical records or scan images through the contact form. Bring them to your appointment, or share them on WhatsApp only if our team asks you to. Any health information you do share with us is used only to arrange and provide your care.

Who we share it with
- The clinics where Dr. Gowtham sees patients (Balenso Ortho, Financial District, and AIG Hospitals, Banjara Hills), so they can book and prepare for your visit. Once you are a patient there, the clinic or hospital also handles your records under its own policies.
- Service providers who run the website and its tools for us, such as our web host, Google (Analytics, Fonts) and Automattic (Jetpack/WordPress.com). They process information on our behalf.
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
WhatsApp messages are also governed by WhatsApp’s own privacy policy.
How long we keep it
We keep contact form messages and appointment enquiries only as long as needed to respond and arrange your care, and longer only where the law or your ongoing treatment requires it. Analytics data is kept in summary form under the settings of the analytics service.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or withdraw consent to being contacted. Write to us using the details below and we’ll respond within a reasonable time. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The website will still work, though some embedded content may not load.
Keeping it safe
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including a secure (HTTPS) connection and limited access to enquiries. No website or online service can be completely secure, so please share only what is needed.
Children
